How can we charge less than the incumbents?
Fair question. Two reasons:
1. Smaller team, tighter product. Jackrabbit has been building since 2003. That means 20+ years of features, most of which most studios never use. All of that costs money to maintain and to sell. Presently is deliberately scoped to the features that most studios actually use, which lets us stay lean.
2. Modern infrastructure. The incumbents are running on architectures they built a decade ago. Ours is built on modern stacks that cost less to run at the same scale. That difference shows up in your bill.
Trade-offs we're honest about: if you're a 1,000-student multi-location operation with very complex needs, the incumbents' feature depth may justify their price. If you're anywhere else, the incumbents' pricing is inertia, not value.
Switching is easier than you think
Most studios put off switching because they assume it'll be a disaster. It's usually a weekend. Presently has bulk import for families, students, classes, and enrollments — the four things that actually take time to re-enter.
